Sparkles and Angels' Blog

Fantasy shopping of favorites

The holidays are over, but we can still shop, especially if we indulge in fantasy shopping. So I decided to imagine what I could buy if I had an unlimited amount of money. I am starting with an item from one of my favorite Etsy shops:

Art Glass Mini Pendant Light - Blue DuoTone Drip - by wolfartglass

Isn’t that cobalt blue just enchanting and oh so soothing?

I decided then to explore wolfartglass‘s favorites, and came up with:

Berry Bowl Set - An Ode to the Abstract - by baileybowls

It’s not that I cook often, but I just love kitchenware, and this berry bowl has style!

I then came across a print from one of baileybowls‘ favorite shops:

ACEO - Blue Blue Evening - Archival Print -by shellieartist

Those beautiful blue shades again, I can’t get enough of them! And, this print features a cat and spirals, which I always adore!

Next, looking through shellieartist‘s favorites, I found another art print:

Morning Cacti & Flowers Bloom - by papersquid

That lime green color has resonated with me for about a year now, and I just love all the sweeping and swirling curves!

papersquid helped me discover this:

Fluttering Hummingbird Silhouette Necklace in Silver - by ANORIGINALJEWELRY

Just look at those clean, simple lines! I am a fan now.

ANORIGINALJEWELRY led me to:

Porcelain Lovebirds Heart Planter, Handmade pottery Made To Order - by DarriellesClayArt

In case you haven’t noticed birds are one of my favorite things 🙂 The glaze looks all shimmery, and the gentle heart shape adds even more interest.

DarriellesClayArt did not have any favorites at the time I was fantasy shopping, so I’m stopping here for now. I hope it has been as much fun for you as it has been for me, and please suggest more fantasy shopping themes, I’d love to do this again!

These are some of my favorite things

What are your favorite Web sites?

Let me tell you some of my current favorites:

="from

Astronomy Picture of the Day — for astronomy lovers. They post a different astronomy picture every day. Most pictures are wonderful, all are interesting. I learned a lot from this site. The photo above is of the dust pillar of the Carina nebula.

from fell2earth.com

fell2earth — I had not done real jigsaw puzzles in a while because, when you have cats, assembling a jigsaw puzzle could be quite frustrating 🙂 I recently discovered these online jigsaw puzzles and I’m now completely addicted. You choose a picture, like the one above, you specify how many pieces you want, and you go to it. Have fun!

from lovemeow.com

lovemeow.com — OMG! If you love cats, this is THE site to go to. They have fantastic pictures of all kinds of cats. They also have stories to go with the pictures, and videos, but I must admit I pretty much look only at the photos.

Would you like to share your favorites? I’d love to find out, so please leave a comment!

Attribution: all the photos in this post are from the aforementioned Web sites.

The cat days of August

You might have assumed from the recent lack of activity on this blog that everyone at Sparkles and Angels is on vacation. Well, not true! At least two of us are working hard, as you can see in the pictures below.

Roni

The co-Directors of Morale, Mischief and Mayhem have been working their tails off, and they are demanding well-deserved raises… Fortunately they get paid in treats 🙂

Meet Roni

Roni is one of two co-Directors of Morale, Mischief, and Mayhem at Sparkles and Angels. His job performance has been extraordinary. His duties consist of:

  • eating me out of house and home — his favorite food is the food in someone else’s bowl
  • sleeping, preferably with his belly up
  • copiously shedding his orange and white fur on my dark clothes
  • looking cute
  • dropping toys into the toilet bowl, especially in the middle of the night
  • biting books – he used to bite everything, but he and I re-negotiated the terms of his contract, and he now limits himself to just books
  • annoying the Director of Quality Assurance (his big sister Zoe)
  • playing with water from a faucet – he gets extra points when I forget to turn the water off
  • creating puddles around his water bowls
  • moving mousies around
  • sleeping in the car seat which was supposed to be for my niece (so far he has used it more than she has)
  • growing long, sharp nails, and making holes in bedsheets

The picture at the top was taken just a few days after Roni was hired. As you can see, he learned his duties really quickly and did not need any on-the-job training.

The second picture shows Roni working overtime recently. Being an executive, he does not put his paws to work on the actual Sparkles and Angels jewelry, but he and the other directors have inspired a line of jewelry for pet lovers:
